Routing Security on Internet

Even though the story of Pakistan's ISP bringing down YouTube.com is very old now, it highlights a very real threat to Internet Routing System. Anyone, who has looked at routing protocols knows that Internet is running on insecure protocols. So, events of this kind are waiting to happen either because of someone's misconfiguration (as in this case) or because of some sabotage. Until secure routing protocols are widely deployed, for Internet to keep working, all ISPs in the world must behave as good citizens of Internet.
