Should Users be Security Experts?

Does your mom need to know about security to access Internet safely? Bruce Schneier thinks that is not acceptable. Security is a complex topic, we can not expect everyone to know about it. No amount of user education is going to make users security experts and give them the ability to fight off all existing and future threats. Burden of security needs to shift on the Internet industry as a whole.

I agree with what Bruce says. After hearing him speak, it seems obvious, but more efforts are required to make the idea popular. Clearly, industry has a vested interest in putting the responsibility on users.

It is an interesting interview to listen.
