A Look at Online Crime Economy

I found this article on CIO site to be an eye opener. I knew it is easy to compromise online presence of a person, but after reading this article, I could only conclude that threat is far worse than we imagine. A wrong URL visit, a wrong click, opening a wrong email, anything can put you at risk. Worse, even without any of our fault, a genuine URL access may cause a security incident if server hosting the URL is compromised. And with sneaky tactics where trojans lie dormant for a long time, and morph themselves continuously to evade detection from anti virus, there is no telling when it will strike.

It is a cliche, but a system is only as secure as its weakest link. If we can be attacked we will be, even if we are security conscious, we may still be attacked via the servers we visit.
